Smoothie For The Family

Are your children picky eaters?  Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothies may be my children's favorite breakfast, snack, lunch or whatever meal!  It disappears quicker than anything else I make them, and there is always a request for seconds.  My oldest is so skinny and very athletic, so I'm always looking for good fat-filled food for her.  The peanut butter is great for this.  I'm pretty sure my youngest would have this any day of the week.  First of all, she gets to drink out of a big kid cup with a straw, (woohoo!)  and second, because it just tastes so yummy!  Either way, it is definitely my go to drink when they are hungry.

I also love this for my family because it has almost 10 grams of protein per serving.  Both of my girls will eat meat, but are pretty picky about which types.  This smoothie will give me another option for their protein.

It is very easy to make.  I use a Vitamix, but it can be made in any blender.  I simply put all the ingredients in at once, and blend until it's a consistency I like. This recipe makes about three servings, or three 8 oz glasses

2 bannanas
1/3 cup peanut butter
1 cup milk
a handful of ice cubes.

It's also a great snack/meal for the adults!  Both Jason and I love smoothies.  I love smoothies in the summer, but this is a great comfort food recipe for the winter also.  Peanut butter is delicious and healthy, and this is just one more great way to enjoy it!
