Books I've been reading - Blogging

I've been really trying to learn everything I can about blogging.  It really is a business, and the best way to succeed with a business, is to read and learn everything you can about said business.

I may exaggerate a bit when I labeled this post, The BEST books about blogging.  Maybe a more accurate title would have been, The books that I could get from the library, about blogging!

These are the books that I was able to get and i've read most of them so far, except for the Facebook Marketing for Dummies and the Social Media Marketing for Dummies.  I have a strong suspicion that those two books are going to be pretty similar.

How to Blog for Profit Without Selling your Soul was by far my favorite.  I really felt like the author was talking to me through.  Honestly, she gave a lot of the same tips that the other books gave, but she explained them a lot better, and with a lot more meaning.  While reading through it I kept getting more an more ideas for posts, and learning more and more about the blogging process.  It really got my creative juices flowing and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Blogging For Creatives - Although this book is geared towards people who create their blogs to help promote their crafting businesses, it's still has fantastic information that even a blogger from another content area could benefit from. This book shows how to get creative with creating your blog!

Blog Inc - This one is a good one also.  It goes into detail which each section and walks you through the process.  The authors offer expert advice on starting and growing your blog(s).

Blogging Bootcamp - This one was slightly wordy for me.  I fell that they went on and on through the sections.  That being said, if your good with skimming you can find some useful information in this book as well.

Blogging for Dummies - It says it in the title, this book is for dummies.  It's actually really great how it breaks down how to do something step by step.  So if you are truly just starting out, I highly recommend this book.

Get to No 1 On Google, Facebook Marketing for Dummies, and Social Marketing for Dummies are also all great books on learning best ways to promote your site.  It takes a lot of work, so don't think for a second that blogging means you can just stay at home all day, and maybe write a little bit here and there.  Being a blogger means constantly getting your site out into the internet universe!

There are tons of books out there to read, and for the most part, they are going to say the same thing.  It just depends on what your looking for, and what kind of writing style you like.  The important thing is that you are reading, though.  You will never get better if you just sit back and hope the money just comes pouring in.  Is there a book that you have read about blogging that you thought was great?  I'd love to hear!

    1. My favorite thing that I've learned is not so much a tip, but a way to not get discouraged. Blogging takes a lot of work. People who are succeeding at it didn't get to that point overnight. If you want to be successful with blogging, it will take time, and work. If you keep with it though, it will only continue to grow!
