11 Activities That Will Help You Feel More Relaxed.

As a fellow parent, we all get lost in the monotonous daily chores and routines.  Even if your not a parent, sometimes days will go by before you even realize it's the next month.  We get so busy with our lives, and our children, that sometimes we forget about taking care of ourselves.  It's just as important to make sure that YOU are taking care of, even if its just for 15 minutes at a time.  I realize that even 15 extra minutes can be hard to find in your day sometime, but for your own self satisfaction, I urge you to find it.

I have compiled a list of 11 activities that you can do for YOU.  They can really take as long or as short as you want, but try to get at least 15 minutes for yourself a day, if not, at least once a week.

1.  Talk a walk - Breathing fresh air in is always good for you.  If it's not nice out (rainy or cold) just take some extra time at a store you have to go too and walk around a little more.  The mall is always fun to go to and window shop.

2.  Read a book - Go outside or find a comfy seat in your house and read a good book.  Fiction or Non-fiction, which ever interests you is perfect.

3.  Garden - If you have a garden, or even just a small flower bed, go out and take out all the weeds, water the flowers, or plant new ones!  Being outside and making your property beautiful will make you feel better too.

4.  Put some Make - up on - It doesn't have to be a lot at all, but I know when I put it on, I feel a lot better and more presentable.

5.  Have some coffee/tea on your porch - I love to people watch, so this one is always relaxing for me when I can do it!

6.  Watch a Ted Talk - These are great to get your mind going creatively!

7.  Do your nails - Find a fun color and go at it.

8.  Play with your pet - Your pets need love too and they are always eager to show you how much they love you.

9.  Quick work out session - Get on the floor and do some pushups, jump rope for a few minutes, shoot some hoops, or maybe if you have barbells you can lift some weights.  Whatever it is, get your body moving and you'll feel ready to tackle the rest of the day.

10. Meditation - There are some great apps for this one.  I mean what can be more relaxing than meditating?

11. Cat nap - If all else fails, curl up on your bed, set your timer, and take a quick cat nap.  Even if you don't actually fall asleep, resting your eyes and body can rejuvenate you!

What do you do to relax? I'd love to hear about it!!!

    1. I wish I could take naps. I've tried, but my brain doesn't let me. Instead, I leave about 10 minutes early picking up the kids so I can read peacefully in the car before schools out!
