Mommy Fail

I have a big MOMMY FAIL to admit.  I'm sure I'm not the only one out there.  I can't be.  The teacher in me is surprised at myself actually.  But here it is.
I hate doing messy crafts at home!

There I said it.

Put me in a classroom with toddlers or preschoolers and you'll see me doing the messiest of crafts, and loving it.

But when I'm home, I hate it.

I feel bad about it, but I cringe when they pick up something messy with those pleading eyes.

I don't mind if they get messy playing outside, or even in the kitchen getting messy when we cook dozens and dozens of cookies together.

There's just something about those art supplies that stain my floors, walls and furniture that irks me.

Paint is maybe the one messy thing that I will allow every now and then.  But they better have those paper bags under their work and keep their butt glued to their seats while the paintbrush is in hand!

My mom got my daughter that play sand that you use indoors.  It's suppose to be practically mess-free.  And I'll be the first to admit I love playing with it when its displayed out in stores!  But the idea of sand in my house?  That's a big no no.  The poor girl has been asking to use it for over a year now!  One of these days I plan on letting her.  I'll probably bring it outside though...just in case.

Dying Easter Eggs is something else, that for some reason, I just don't want to do.  We have an amazing babysitter that did it with my girls the past two years.  My oldest even asked if she was going to babysit so that they could do it this year.  I knew we weren't planning on having her babysit so I intended to do eggs with them, but it just never happened.

Oh, and don't even get me started on PlayDough!

Please let me know I'm not alone!
