The Only Water Balloons You'll EVER need!
I am so excited about my newest item in my crochet shop! I don't usually do posts on just one particular item, but this one is such a game changer, and so much fun, that I just had to write about it.
What is the one question you dread to hear during the summer?
"Mom/Dad, can you fill up water balloons for us?"
If you agree to this request, you'll be spending at least an hour at the hose or the kitchen sink filling up those darn balloons, just hoping that they don't accidentally slide off the faucet and splash water all over you. Cursing under your breath, because even though you know your kids are going to have a blast with those said balloons, that fun will only last 5 minutes.
And THEN you still have to pick up all those balloon pieces that are all over the lawn! No matter how much your kids promise they will pick it all up, you know you'll be out there finishing the clean up process.
All for 5 minutes of fun.
NOT ANYMORE!!!
Now, we have CROCHETED WATER BALLOONS!!!!
These balloons are made from baby blanket yarn, so they soak up water like sponges. All you need is a few buckets around the yard, filled with water, and you can continually soak your balloons and then throw them at your preferred target! And, you can use them over and over again!
So much summer fun, with barely any prep work!
I had my girls test them out for me. Before I put them up for sale, I wanted to make sure they actually worked and, most importantly, they were safe. I let my oldest throw them at me as hard as she could, AND THEY DIDN'T HURT!!! I got soaking wet, but it didn't hurt at all!
There are many children who are allergic to latex, and have never been able to be a part of the joyous water balloon fights during the summer. Now they can!!
Seriously, these are so much fun. My girls were laughing and having a blast the whole time.
As for clean up? Each order comes with a mesh bag that you throw the balloons into when you are done. Throw that bag in the dryer on delicate, and they are dried and ready for the next time your children want to play!
See them in action:
They started by prepping the balloons.
And the water fight began!!!!!
Daddy thought it would be funny to have them team up and attack Mommy!!!
Eventually they went back to throwing them at each other
Throw them in a mesh bag to dry, and they are ready for the next water balloon fight!
If you'd like to buy a set of your own you can at my Square Market Store
(find them under the toys section)
They come in sets of 6 or 12
For every 6 balloons you can choose 1 color
6 balloons: 1 color
12 balloons: 2 colors
18 balloons: 3 colors
24 balloons: 4 colors
and so on.

How fun! Such a great idea! Looks like your girls had a blast!
ReplyDeleteThey really did! Thank you!
DeleteSuch a wonderful and creative idea! And I love seeing their smiles 😂
ReplyDeleteThey couldn't be happier throwing them at me!!! LOL
DeleteWoah! This is so cool! And it's environmentally friendly, which normal ones are definitely not.
ReplyDeleteExactly!!! Thank you!
DeleteThis is such a fun and creative idea!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Kids love it.
DeleteWhat an awesome idea! One of the things I don't like about regular water balloons is having to pick the little bits out of the lawn after they pop. These would definitely solve that problem!
ReplyDeleteMe too! My kids say they pick them all up, but then I find a ton more out there!
DeleteWhat a great idea! No messy bits to worry about
ReplyDeleteExactly! Picking those up is almost as bad as it taking an hour to fill them!
DeleteRight, get the mother-in-law doing the crochet and then the husband and I can have some fun. Yes, we're big kids!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I definitely had fun with these as well!!!
DeleteI bet they would!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous idea! I hadn't even thought about how some kids are allergic to latex--wonderful they can join in the fun!
ReplyDeleteYep! I haven't had that issue with my kids, but I know this will be great for those who can't have typical balloons.
DeleteI never even seen this! I absolutely LOVE this idea! So easy and looks just as much fun, even more than balloons! Less mess as well from picking up popped balloon pieces all over the yard. I should mention this to my crochet friends or and learn how to myself!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! They are quick to make too, so its really perfect all around.
DeleteThis is such a good idea, much better than filling up an endless amount of balloons.
ReplyDeleteIt really is!!! The fact that these are reusable is perfect!
DeleteWhat a great idea! Do you have a pattern available for these?
ReplyDeleteYou can find free patterns all over for them honestly. Simply put it's magic ring with 8 dc, 16 dc next round, 2 more rounds of 16, decrease to 8, then decrease to 4. Finally do 8 sc and wrap the tail around.
DeleteNever heard of these before. What a cool idea
ReplyDeleteThanks! My kids love them!
DeleteWhat! How amazing are these? I just love that they are reusable - the normal water balloons create so much waste. Such a great idea! Well done.

Right? I've never seen reusable balloons so these are a game changer!
DeleteHaha these look fantastic and perfect for the beach!
ReplyDeleteI bet they would be great at the beach!
DeleteI was a bit skeptical when I saw the words Crocheted Water Balloons, but these look amazing! The main reason I don't buy water balloons is that I don't want to clean up all those little pieces. This is such a smart idea!
ReplyDeleteNo more little pieces! Clean up is as simple as putting them in the dryer now.
DeleteSo creative and looks like they had a blast!!!
ReplyDeleteThey really did. They keep wanting to go back out to play with them some more!
DeleteWhat an awesome idea! I think they might be easy enough for me to make for my girls!
ReplyDeleteThey are really simple and quick!
DeleteWhat a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWow this is cool and fun idea! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThis is so fun and such a good idea!

Deleteawesome idea! and safer for kids too
ReplyDeleteThey are really safe! I made sure before I promoted them! The kids love them.
DeleteSuch a good idea compared to the traditional water balloons. It looks like they had so much fun! :)

Thank you, they really did!
DeleteThese look really cool! Definitely think I'll have to get some even if it just for me and my boyfriend to pretend to be kids ;)
ReplyDeleteHaha! I have to say my husband and I had fun throwing them around as well! They are for kids of all ages!
DeleteI think other people have already mentioned this, but YAY for not having to pick up all of the left over pieces that traditional water balloons leave behind! It looks like your kiddos have a blast with them too :) I have a one year old so I wouldn't have to worry about her chewing on them. LOL
ReplyDeleteYes that is a big selling point!!!! I've let my 2 year old play with them and he loves them just as much as the girls!
DeleteThis is a genius idea - and so much more environmentally friendly than using traditional water balloons. Reusable, so no waste and no litter! -Emmi, www.scoutandwiles.com
ReplyDeleteIt really is a win win all around!
DeleteThis is brilliant, because as you stated earlier the fun with regular balloons only last a good 5 minutes and then mommy has to pick up the pieces which is another pain. I love hat they are reusable too.
ReplyDeleteYep, quick to set up and quick to clean up!!
DeleteOriginal pattern can be found: http://www.leftinknots.com/home/2016/7/12/crochet-water-balloons
ReplyDeleteThank you! I just mixed a lot of suggestions people were putting out there but I wasn't sure which was the original pattern!
Deleteohhh !!! i feel nostalgic now.. these children are love
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteGreat fun with balloons. Also because its reusable. Hats off to you
ReplyDeleteYes! The reusable feature is fantastic. Thanks' for visiting
DeleteI LOVE this idea! I get tired of picking up the thousands of plastic bits from our yard with traditional water balloons.
ReplyDeleteRight! My poor kids used to be deprived of having water balloon fights because I just didn't want to deal with it. Now they can do them whenever they want!
DeleteThat is a fun idea! I like the "reusable" factor.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteThis sounds like a super fun :D I would definitely buy it to kids :D What a great idea :)
